Abstract
Sarcoma rarely occurs at the remnant stomach. We experienced a case of remnant gastric leiomyosarcoma. He was fifty six year old man who got partial gastectomy for gastric ulcer 7 years ago. Remnant gastric malignancy is not infrequent, and
leiomyosarcoma it is also a possibility. The gastrofiberscopic or radiologic follow-up evaluation for remnant gastric cancer of the patients who have had gastric cancer surgery has been a popularized. However after the partial gastrectomy for
benign
disease, the gastrofiberscopic or radiologic follow-up is less commonly done. The submucosal tumors such as leiomyosarcoma tends to be overlooked because of its difficulty to evaluate and get tissue diagnosis by endoscopy. Therefore, careful
follow-up
evaluation is also important for the patients of partial gastrectomy for benign diseases who have possibility of development of malignancy including very rare leiomyosarcoma.
